Clear Channel Outdoor Adds Four New Markets to Digital Billboard Network Roll Out
Akron, Columbus, Memphis, and Wichita to host multi-purpose, state-of-the-art displays

Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:CCO), today announced the next four markets in its ongoing rollout of digital billboard networks in the U.S. Four cities - Akron, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Memphis, Tennessee; and Wichita, Kansas - will bring to 10 the number of markets hosting digital billboard networks installed in the U.S.
In Memphis, the network consists of five 14' x 48' bulletins. Akron's network has six bulletins of that size. The Wichita and Columbus networks each consist of six 12' x 24' poster-sized displays. All networks will rotate static advertising copy on each network display in an 8-second loop, totalling a minimum of 1,250 advertising spots each day.
Digital billboard networks enable advertisers to more effectively and dynamically reach increasingly transient consumers with static advertising copy that can be changed almost instantaneously as frequently as ad campaigns dictate. With this technology, advertisers can promote items like breakfast and dinner specials on a day-part basis, and retailers can promote even last minute sales as well as highlight price changes during the course of a sale.

Digital billboard networks are already being pressed into public service. For example, Clear Channel Outdoor has entered into protocols in Cleveland, Las Vegas and Minneapolis/St. Paul that authorize its digital displays to carry Amber Alert messages, giving those states' Amber Alert boards the ability to override advertising with immediate information on missing and abducted children.
To date, in addition to these four new networks, Clear Channel Outdoor has launched digital billboard networks in Albuquerque, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Tampa. Networks can be designed to reach a large percentage of the total population, a specific section of a city, and even specific demographic groups.
