Artpace San Antonio Mounts Third and Final Installation of Year-long Gonzalez-Torres Exhibit on Clear Channel Billboards in El Paso, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio

Creative Possibilities of Billboard Medium Highlighted as Unconventional Canvas for Fine Art

Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCO) and Artpace San Antonio today announce the third and final installation of Felix Gonzalez-Torres: Billboards, a year-long outdoor exhibition of the American, Cuban-born artist's work displayed on Clear Channel billboards across Texas. The installation utilizes the drama of billboards to create one-of-a-kind displays outside the walls of institutional settings and dramatically placed into public spaces.

Felix Gonzalez-Torres was one of the inaugural participants in Artpace's renowned International Artist-in-Residence Program. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Artpace, a laboratory for the advancement of contemporary art, pays tribute to the artist's works by mounting this year-long exhibition on 13 billboards in communities across Texas. Eight installations have already been displayed throughout the year, and the remaining five pieces are currently on view in Dallas, El Paso, Houston and San Antonio until December 31, 2010. The artist, who died of AIDS related causes in 1996, just one year after his residency at Artpace, was known for his monumental works designed especially for the large scale presentation billboards provide.

"San Antonio is not only our headquarters but it is a city flourishing with art and culture. We are thrilled to partner with Artpace, and help it achieve its mission to educate and offer an intimate experience of art to our communities," said Michelle Costa, Group President - South Region of Clear Channel Outdoor. "With this exhibition of works created especially for the outdoor medium, Artpace gave our billboards the chance to display their full potential as a lively and engaging art form that enriches our cultural landscape. It has been inspiring to be part of such a creative project."

"The exhibition would simply not have been possible without the support of Clear Channel Outdoor and the company's market managers," said Matthew Drutt, Executive Director of Artpace. "This special anniversary project elevates our mission to nurture the creative expression of emerging and established artists, engaging the communities around us. With the success of this exhibition, we look forward to continuing our partnership with Clear Channel in future collaborations."

Through this partnership, Clear Channel Outdoor brings visual art to its local audiences, allowing the exhibition to be on view in locations where the public may not have access to institutions like Artpace, and highlighting the billboard medium as a unique, customizable platform, and an exceptional tool for any type of display.

Felix Gonzalez-Torres: Billboards has helped inform people across Texas about the mission and educational programs of Artpace. The ongoing exhibition now provides special guided tours and lectures arranged throughout El Paso, Houston and San Antonio. Gonzalez-Torres' work flourishes on the large billboards as his work focuses on the questions of public and private space, authorship, originality and the role of institutionalized meaning. Surrounded by the Texas landscape and magnified on the Clear Channel billboards, Gonzalez-Torres' transcendent displays become must-see destinations.
