Clear Channel Outdoor and NBC Universal Join Forces to Inform and Entertain Passengers in New York City Taxi Cabs

Clear Channel Taxi Media, a division of Clear Channel Outdoor (NYSE:CCO), and NBC Universal have joined forces to inform and entertain passengers in at least 5,000 New York City taxis. Beginning in 2007, taxis affiliated with Clear Channel Taxi Media will air NY10, New York's Taxi Entertainment Network, featuring exclusive content from WNBC, NBC News (including network programs, MSNBC and CNBC) and NBC Entertainment. NY10 will roll out during the first half of the year as part of the Taxi and Limousine Commission's recent announcement to install Passenger Information Monitors in New York City cabs.

NY10 will feature a mix of local and national news, weather, sports and entertainment content on state-of-the-art LCD screens installed in the back seat of the cabs. In addition to the daily news and information, the screens give passengers the ability to track the route of their trip, as well as pay for their fare by credit or debit card in a safe, secure and speedy environment.

"We are always looking for innovative ways to expose our brands to as many people as possible, not only to New Yorkers but also to the millions of people who visit New York each year," said Frank Radice, SVP, NBC Agency, East Coast. "This is the perfect vehicle - no pun intended - to make that happen."

Added Frank Comerford, General Manager of WNBC, "We are excited about partnering with Clear Channel Outdoor and the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission to provide our content to millions of taxi cab passengers via these new digital screens. This is another way we can keep fast-paced New Yorkers informed both in-and-out of their homes."

In addition to the unique programming, NY10 offers companies a new dynamic and personal environment to reach over 14 million New York consumers each month. Advertisers can utilize full-motion video with sound, flash animation and display ads. Special enhancements also allow ad campaigns to run in all or part of the NY10 Network, plus the ability to schedule ads to run during specific times of the day and, thanks to the revolutionary GPS tracking system installed in the taxis, to run only in designated geographic zones.

"The yellow cab and WNBC are two true icons of New York City, and with NY10, Clear Channel Taxi Media combines both to provide a new digital medium utilizing 21st century technology," says Charlie DiToro, COO for Clear Channel Taxi Media. "NY10 gives advertisers the ability to use the power of sight and sound to impact consumers in a one-to-one environment. Advertisers want flexibility, engagement, accountability and, most of all, results. NY10 will deliver on all these desires, creating another unique digital out-of-home advertising platform to grab eyeballs and ears of the consumer."
