SAN ANTONIO, May 20, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings (NYSE: CCO) today announces it has been awarded the Street Furniture contract by the City of Paris until 2024. Under this new contract, Clear Channel France will operate 1,630 pieces of street furniture in the French Capital which will be available for out of home advertising. The news comes as Clear Channel begins its new chapter as an independent, standalone business, and looks to unlock growth opportunities across its new Europe region.

Clear Channel France will operate 1,630 pieces of street furniture in Paris. To create the designs, Clear Channel partnered with French architect and designer Christian Biecher.

A unique advertising opportunity giving brands local and national exposure
Under this new contract, brands advertising with Clear Channel in Paris will be able to reach up to 85% of the Greater Paris population each week. The street furniture will also be available as part of Clear Channel's nationwide campaign offering, which makes it possible for advertisers to reach more than 20 million French residents every day.

Clear Channel will begin installing the street furniture across the Capital in September, with the first advertising campaigns scheduled for Q4 2019.

William Eccleshare, Worldwide CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor said: "We're thrilled that the City of Paris has chosen to partner with Clear Channel to modernize and bring its street furniture to life across the city. As a global business, we collaborate with cities around the world to help deliver advertising-funded solutions to make them more sustainable and efficient, and offer cities a new way to communicate with their citizens.

"France is a key market for Clear Channel Outdoor, and I would like to thank the French team for their hard work and dedication as we build on last year's positive momentum. Today's news is further evidence of the robust health of our business as we begin a new chapter as a fully independent, pure play, out of home advertising company, and we look forward to seeing further growth across our markets as we continue to lead the digital transformation of the sector."

Philippe Baudillon, President of Clear Channel France and International President - Smart Cities, Clear Channel International, adds: "Winning this contract for Street Furniture in Paris marks a historical milestone. Exceptional design specifically developed by Christian Biecher for Paris
To create the designs for the new street furniture for the city, Clear Channel partnered with French architect and designer Christian Biecher.  Christian's design was inspired by Paris, as both a modern and historic city, resulting in the characteristic layered style. The logo on the base of the frames includes the signature of Paris as a nod to the city.

Three street furniture product designs will be delivered under the new contract: Ground furniture (x1080 units), Mast furniture (x350 units) and City map furniture (x200 units).

Commitment to sustainability
As part of its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint and help build sustainable cities, Clear Channel will also plant a new tree in a forest of the Paris Region for every new piece of street furniture installed. To deliver on this commitment, it is partnering with French company, EcoTree.

Additionally, all 1,630 pieces of street furniture will be made of recyclable materials and feature LED lighting with a light dimmer to reduce energy consumption. A remote management system for the street furniture will also be added to reduce their carbon footprint, and unfiltered water alongside sustainable products will be used to clean the furniture.
