Play Ball! Clear Channel Outdoor Showcases the Junior Giants on New Digital Billboard Network in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCO) today announced its support of the Junior Giants, the San Francisco Giants Community Fund's innovative and non-competitive baseball program for children aged 5-18 years old, with a special campaign marking the launch of its new digital billboard network in San Francisco.
"Junior Giants strives to promote positive character development and healthy lifestyles to children in San Francisco. We are appreciative of Clear Channel Outdoor's support and are honored to be a part of this special launch," said Sue Petersen, Executive Director of Junior Giants Baseball.
The San Francisco digital billboard network features six state-of-the-art 14' x 48' displays strategically placed on highways surrounding the Bay Area including I-580, I-880, HWY 92 and the Bay Bridge. The network will display eight-second spots every 64 seconds over a 24-hour rotation, guaranteeing exposure 80,000 times for each client and a weekly reach of 2.8 million Adults 18+. San Francisco also boasts a separate network of first-of-their-kind interactive digital transit shelters that feature robust 72" LCD touch screens. Twenty new interactive digital shelters were installed in November 2010 on major public transportation routes in San Francisco.
"San Francisco is recognized as one of the most desirable places to live, work and visit, and we're excited to bring this innovative digital out-of-home technology to the market. This new network will allow important public service communications and marketing messages to be delivered to the community in a flexible and efficient way," said Ron Cooper, CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor. "We saw an opportunity to feature the Junior Giants in the inaugural campaign on this network and are proud to support the efforts of this great organization."
The San Francisco network adds to more than 600 digital displays across 36 U.S. markets for Clear Channel Outdoor. With the ability to deliver messaging in real-time through instantaneous alerts, digital billboards have proven to be an extremely effective means of public communication. Clear Channel's Digital Outdoor Networks have been embraced by municipal governments as they allow transportation agencies, police departments and other emergency services to convey important public safety information to motorists, including weather and traffic conditions, disaster preparedness needs, AMBER Alerts for the missing or abducted, and FBI wanted messages. Digital Outdoor also offers unparalleled flexibility to advertisers, allowing them to adapt their messages to the time of day and market conditions, as well as target specific audiences and geographies.
